zyGrib

Hi,

i downloaded the detailed maps and put them in /usr/lib/zygrib/... as described in the documentation.
Anyway, I cant get a lower resolution than 1 kilometer. I understood the maps should offer 100m. Whats wrong?

Compiled version for Ubuntu and Debian

High resolution Worldmaps :

gshhs_maps2_cities_deb_install (1.5 ko)

The script gshhs_maps2_cities_deb_install allow to download and install high resolution Worldmaps which are not in the main package in /opt/zyGrib/maps/gshhs and more cities in /opt/zyGrib/data/gis

I have neither Debian nor Ubuntu, for this I have not seen this info
A little further down the page:

Unpack maps in <...>zyGrib/maps/gshhs.

In openSUSE there is only a installation in /usr/lib/ and it contains i.e. /usr/lib/zyGrib/data/maps/gshhs/. Putting the detailed maps there works fine, but I expect it to be overwritten with the next release update. Putting it in /opt/zyGrib/data/maps/gshhs/ does not work!

Normaly an update will not suppress files in a repository, but only update those which need to be updated.
