Compiling zyGrib on Mac

Hello Everyone,
We are trying to compile zyGrib on Mac OS X 10.9 and running into issues.
It seems that the latest source code requires Qt 4. the last version of Mac OS X supported by Qt 4 is 10.5 (and 10.6 experimental). Qt 4 will not compile on Mac OS X 10.9. I have downloaded Qt 5 and tried it but get errors.
So... I was curious if anyone had instructions for building from sources on newer macs?
