Hello everyone. I'll explain a basic way to launch this amazing software from "Applications" Gnome main menu.
step 1
make a script in your main user directory (gnome terminal)
E.g. vi name.sh (bash shell)
press "i" (insert) and type :
line 1 " cd --- zyGrib-path ----" (E.g. cd /usr/local/zyGrib)
line 2 "./zyGrib"
then save and quit "vi" editor ( press "Esc" --->":"---->"wq")
step 2
change permissions file, Type:
chmod +x name.sh
step 3
build a new menu and a new item into it (System -->Preferences -->Look and Feel --> Main Menu )
step 4
setup item (Launcher Properties)
Type: Application in Terminal
Name: $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Command: gnome-terminal -e ./name.sh
that's all, very simple.

Here we speak french or english, as we want, as we can, but we never forget that we discuss between humans.
Do not forget the magic words: hello, hi, thank you, etc.
Rude messages are rejected and remain unanswered.
It is often necessary to be patient because there are many other activities even more exciting in our life.

Thanks for the explanation.
The bash file is already in the .deb package as well as the config into menu (with a small fish as image).

your explanation also helped me to insert zyGrib correctly in my KDE menu.
But there is one thing I do not understand: "Why do I have to go to the installation path first and then start zyGrib from there?".
If I remember correctly, in a previous version it was possible to launch the appliction by typing the absolute path.
This is still possible but if I do so, icons are missing and the GUI only comes along in French. That confused me a little bit.
Maybe somebody has an explanation for that.
Nevertheless:
zyGrib is a great tool!!!!
Merci!

No it was always necessary to cd to the zygrib repository.
As mentionned above in the .deb package, I add the script in the /usr/local/bin which allow to start it from everywhere (first command of the script is cd zygrib_path).
To change the language just go into the menu options->language and choose the one you prefer.
